USO Tampa Bay Expands Reach to Serve Troops and Military Families Throughout Central Florida
USO Tampa Bay, Inc. announced plans to expand their support of troops and their families to the Central Florida region, coast to coast. The nonprofit organization will offer programs and services to active duty military and their dependents from Tampa in the west to Melbourne in the east, and from Sanford in the north to Fort Meade in the south. USO Tampa Bay, Inc. will change its name to USO Central Florida, Inc. to reflect the expanded Geographical Service Area. Plans are underway to establish a 3000 sq. ft. USO Welcome Center at Orlando International Airport by October 2014.
There are approximately 71,000 active duty military and their dependents living in Central Florida. With this expansion, we can also serve Patrick Air Force Base, Coast Guard Stations Port Canaveral & New Smyrna and Naval Support Activity (NSA) Orlando.
Michael Rovinelli, Executive Director, states, “The expansion of the Geographical Service Area will also provide opportunities to engage additional volunteers and community supporters.” To learn more about the new USO Central Florida or how to get involved visit www.usocentralflorida.org or email info@usocentralflorida.org.
