'Operation: That's My Dress' Gives Back to Military Spouses, Daughters

The United Service Organizations will host one of this years eight Operation: That’s My Dress in Tampa on Saturday and Sunday.

In its fifth year, the event at the Doubletree By Hilton – Westshore allows military spouses and their teenage daughters a unique chance to pick out a brand new designer cocktail dress or gown.

“This program provides a fashion/entertainment experience and delivers new designer dresses for Prom, Homecoming, Holidays and other formal occasions,” according to the USO’s OTMD website.

The event will feature a fashion show with Miss USA contestants and models.

Afterward, a “Dress Expo” will pair up participants with the models to help them select the perfect dress from over 1,000 different options. Stylists will be on hand to help offer hair and makeup recommendations.

Each of these events begins with a private “Fashion Show” with Miss USA contestants and professional models, a “Dress Expo” featuring consultations with professional stylists, and accessory product giveaways at “The Beauty Bar”.

Event organizers said, “military families experience unique challenges related to military life with frequent moves, deployments, and adapting to new homes and communities. The Operation That’s My Dress experience is just one of the many ways the USO connects service members and their families to their family, home and country.”

Registration begins Saturday, November 19th at 3:30 p.m. at the Doubletree by Hilton – Westshore. 4500 West Cypress Street, Tampa, FL
