USO Central Florida Honored as Finalist at WEDU Be More Awards
On February 12th, USO Central Florida was honored to be recognized as a “Be More Brilliant” finalist at the 2015 WEDU Be More Awards. This award winning, nationally-recognized event pays tribute to the many unsung heroes in the community and showcases the best work by nonprofit organizations, the individuals that support them and WEDU.
The “Be More Brilliant: Innovation Award” recognizes initiatives, projects, and/or services that are unique, creative, or innovative, particularly highlighting resourcefulness when challenged with a limited budget, superior utilization of collaborative community partnerships or ingenious staffing options by mobilizing members and/or volunteer support.
Congratulations to the winner, Asolo Repertory Theatre and the other finalists nominated alongside USO Central Florida for pioneering ways to serve, educate and broaden new horizons: Humane Society of Tampa Bay, Lazydays Employee Foundation/Camelot Community Care, Lift Academy, and National Society to Prevent Blindness.
